Affiliate disclosure

Rigwise is an information and decision platform, not a shop. We do not take payment, hold stock, ship anything or handle returns.

How we make money

Some links to retailers are affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a commission. That commission comes out of the retailer’s margin — it does not change the price you pay.

What commission never affects

  • Which products the builder selects. Parts are chosen by a deterministic optimizer using budget, compatibility rules and published scoring weights.
  • The order of retailer offers. Offers are ranked by availability, data freshness and total price including shipping. Nothing in the ranking code reads the affiliate flag — this is covered by a unit test that fails if it ever does.
  • Product page content, specification values, compatibility verdicts or benchmark results.

A retailer with no affiliate relationship can win the ranking, and in this demo dataset one regularly does.

Sponsored placements

There are none in this MVP. If sponsored placements are ever introduced, they will be visually separated from organic results and labelled as sponsored on every surface where they appear.

Outbound links and tracking

Retailer links pass through /go/<offer-id>, which records that a clickout happened — the offer, the product, the retailer and the surface it came from — and then redirects. We do not attach personal identifiers to that record, and the demo links point at a placeholder domain rather than a real store.

Outbound retailer links are marked rel="nofollow sponsored".

Corrections

If a specification, price or compatibility verdict looks wrong, the fix belongs in the data pipeline rather than in a manual edit. How that works is described in the methodology.
