Privacy and analytics

Rigwise separates essential product functionality from optional measurement. Google Analytics stays blocked until a visitor explicitly allows analytics.

Essential Rigwise data

Account sessions, saved-build ownership, monitor preferences and security controls are necessary to provide features a visitor requests. Rigwise uses secure first-party, HTTP-only cookies where those features require them. Those cookies are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Optional Google Analytics

If a visitor chooses Allow analytics, Rigwise loads Google Analytics 4 through Google's tag. Its standard measurement can report page views, sessions, referrers, approximate geography and browser or device characteristics. Google may process an IP address at collection time to derive location, but Google states that GA4 discards it before the address is logged or stored.

Rigwise does not send account email addresses, saved-build contents, recovery keys or other direct account identifiers to Google Analytics. Advertising storage, advertising user data, ad personalization and Google signals are disabled in the site integration. Analytics is intended only to improve navigation, decision tools and content quality.

Consent choice and cookies

Before consent, the Google tag is not requested and no analytics information is sent to Google. Rigwise stores the choice — analytics allowed or necessary only — in the browser's local storage. If analytics is allowed, Google may set first-party cookies such as _ga to distinguish visits and sessions. Revoking consent blocks the tag on the next page load and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies.

Retention and external processing

The GA4 property should retain user-level and event-level exploration data for two months. Aggregated reporting may remain available under Google Analytics' standard reporting rules. Measurement data is processed by Google under its privacy policy and Analytics terms.

Other product measurement

Rigwise records aggregate operational evidence needed to run the platform, such as source health, data-quality checks and retailer-offer clickouts. Clickout records do not store an IP address, user agent, email address or advertising cookie identifier.

Questions and changes

This page will be updated when Rigwise adds another measurement provider or materially changes its data practices. Product methodology and commercial independence are documented separately in the methodology and affiliate disclosure.
